Redeemer Covenant Church, Caledonia, Michigan

Stations of the Cross–Art and Faith

We are asking everyone in the congregation to join us for stations (waiting places along the way) of the Cross during Holy Week; Jesus’ journey from his arrest to his death on Calvary. We know there are many gifted and talented artists and crafts people in our Redeemer Family. We would like to ask you to think about and offer something you will make or put together for one station that stimulates your creativity. We are going to use a format that is kid friendly, in order for all ages to be involved in the artwork. We realize that not everyone is gifted in this area, nor has the time to be involved.

To read through the format for each of the 14 stations, here is the link for you to go to:
The website: http://www.cptryon.org/prayer/child/stations/index.html

It would be helpful if you did the following steps:
1. Read through the 14 stations on the left sidebar to decide which one you would like to create artwork for.
2. Decide how you want to produce the artwork (paint, clay, metal, wood, tapestry, paper mache, etc.)If you need someone to brainstorm with, please call Gail, Jack or Sharon.
3. Please call Gail Soper to let her know which station you will be doing and in what medium. (616-698-1960)
4. All artwork needs to be done and at church by Friday, March 19th.
5. If you have any questions, please contact Gail @ 616-698-1960, or email .
This does not have to be flat artwork, such as painting or drawing, though that would be great! If you like to do pottery, metal work, wood working, or whatever, please sign up! Photograpy, creating an item that would be integral to the station, like the sign above Jesus head,”The King of the Jews”, almost anything that would help everyone image what happened during that week is what we are looking for!

Thank you so much for your willingness to participate in the worship activity!
