Grudges & Unforgiveness: Small Sins, Big Victories (2-25-2018)
Listen

Pastor Beth spoke on unforgiveness and grudge-holding based on Genesis 27 (Jacob and Esau’s story), helping us understand the detrimental impact on us as well as the person(s) we refuse to forgive, including thinking we are being godly by disapproving someone else’s sin.  God calls us to forgive whether or not the other person is sorry.  She shared with us from the writing of Miroslav Volf (Exclusion and Embrace, 2002 Louisville Grawemeyer Award in Religion), a Croation theologian whose father had been tortured during the Bosnian War and who’d under gone prolonged interrogation himself.  Only God’s love can help us forgive and heal from our wounds.
